STORAGE CONTAINER RENTAL AGREEMENT

Parties
1. The ‘Owner’ Chase Metal Recycling Ltd – Unit 1, Chaseside Drive, Cannock, Staffs. WS11 7EY

2. The ‘Customer’

Terms and conditions for letting of container (the premises)
1. The following terms and conditions are supplemental to the storage container rental form.

2. This agreement does not constitute or create a tenancy and can be terminated at any time by the owner or the customer by giving at least one month’s notice;
a. The owner reserves the right to terminate this agreement immediately if the customer breaches any of the terms or conditions set out in the agreement.

3. The customer must disclose to the owner all goods and materials being stored within the premises at the outset of the agreement and must also inform the owner if the nature of the goods or materials stored within the container is to change during the agreement;
a. The customer must not store any Tyres, Salvage Cars, Scrap Metal, Hazardous or illegal goods or materials or living creatures within the premises and must not, without having obtained the prior consent of the owner store any food products, perishable goods or anything capable of emitting fumes or odours; and
b. The customer will bear full liability for anything found within the premises that does not conform to the above.

4. All goods are stored at the customer’s own risk and an estimated value of the goods must be disclosed at the outset of the agreement;
a. The customer is responsible for obtaining insurance in respect of the goods and materials stored within the premises and should notify the owner if, at any time during the agreement, the value of the goods and materials changes significantly.

5. The customer shall not do or permit to be done anything that will damage the premises or the owner’s land and agrees to indemnify the owner against any damage caused.

6. The customer is to use the premises for storage purposes only and not use it for any other purpose whatsoever.

7. The owner reserves the right to enter the premises, on reasonable notice, to inspect, maintain and repair the premises.
a. In the event of an emergency, the owner reserves the right to break the lock and to enter the premises, after which the lock will be replaced.

8. Rent at a sum of £100 plus VAT is payable monthly in advance by the customer and payment is to be made by standing order unless the owner consents to an alternative payment method.   


A deposit of £50 is payable at the outset of the agreement to cover the cost of replacing keys as is a deposit of one month’s rent.

9. If Rent is paid late or is missed, then an administration fee of £10 is payable as is interest at 4% above the Bank of England quoted base rate;
a. All costs incurred by the owner for recovering any debts owed will be payable by the customer; and
b. If payments are not forthcoming within one month of the monies being due, the owner reserves the right to enter the premises and to sell the customer’s goods and materials to make good the debt and other costs incurred.
